Discipline Head position in the Information Storage, Analysis and Retrieval group, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. The School of Computer Science and Information Technology at RMIT University is one of Australia's largest Schools in its field. The Information Storage, Analysis and Retrieval Discipline has a 30 year history of producing internationally renowned research and graduates who are outstanding, both academically and in industry. As head of the Discipline and part of the School management team, you will provide leadership to the academic staff and effectively manage Discipline resources. As a research leader with an established track record, including grant funding, you specialise in one or more fields of information retrieval, databases, and/or string processing algorithms. You are successful in leading and managing strong academic units, including establishing a cross-disciplinary environment, encouraging research, and formation of research teams both within the School and University. Effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, together with industry networking and partnering abilities with professional bodies are essential.
