Postdoctoral Fellow position in the area of Developing Scientific Software
and Applied Optimization
Summary:
We are currently seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in
the area of Developing Scientific Software and Applied Optimization. The
position will be in the SoftQual research group, which is a part of the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Schulich School of
Engineering of the University of Calgary, located in Calgary, Canada.
The position is related to an industrial research project with the following
title:
Engineering Intelligent Software Systems for Improving the Operational
Efficiency of Oil Pipeline Networks

This is a term-based position. The contract is to be renewed each year,
depending on performance and availability of funds. The start date is
negotiable. The salary will be commensurate with experience and
qualifications.

within an hour's drive of Banff National Park, one of the most beautiful
parts of the Rocky Mountains.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates that would ideally fulfill the following
requirements:
* A Ph.D. in Software Engineering or Applied Optimization
* Expertise in Developing Scientific Software (a.k.a. Scientific Computing)
and Applied Optimization
* A strong record of publications in international conferences and journals
* Industrial experience (both employment and collaboration) will be
considered an advantage.
The position requires excellent English speaking and writing skills.
