[SEWORLD] SIGSOFT Nominee for 2010 ACM-W Athena Lecturer
The ACM SIGSOFT Executive Committee welcomes advice regarding
nominations for the 2010 ACM-W Athena Lectureship.
To quote from the ACM-W webpages, "Athena Lectures celebrate
outstanding women researchers who have made fundamental research
contributions to computer science." Athena Lecturers give an invited
talk at an ACM conference determined by the speaker and the nominating
SIG. The award includes travel expenses to that conference and a
$10,000 honorarium. Financial support for the 2010 Athena Lecturers
is being provided by Google, Inc.
Nominations must come from a SIG officer, but input from the SIGSOFT
community would be greatly appreciated. Input can be as simple as the
name of a potential nominee and a succinct description of her research
contributions. (A polished letter of recommendation is not required!)
Deadline: If you have suggestions for SIGSOFT nominees for this
award, please send email to Joanne Atlee (jmatlee@uwaterloo.ca) by
December 15, 2009.
