For 2010 we are looking to fill a Researcher position in the areas of distributed systems and networks (p2p and content distribution, distributed systems, social networks, databases/storage, fault tolerance, wireless networks, graph theory, complex networks).  Researcher positions are geared towards recent graduates just finishing their PhDs or young established researchers looking to develop their career further in a young environment full of opportunities to grow and have an impact. Successful candidates are expected to pursue a highly visible research agenda, both independently and in collaboration with other groups. We offer a unique environment that combines the best aspects of an academic environment and an industrial innovation lab:  a) Researchers are able to lead a team of graduate students, interns, and cooperate internationally with other researchers and visitors. They have full freedom to publish their research results and the possibility to have a real impact through Telefonica, currently one of the largest Telco’s in the world. b) Researchers have the opportunity to supervise doctoral theses, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses.  c) Researchers are provided with outstanding IT and administrative support, facilities, and travel funding.
