The Health Information Privacy Laboratory (HIPLab) at Vanderbilt University (http://www.hiplab.org) has a recent opening for a postdoctoral fellow in data privacy and security for medical record systems. The focus of this position is on the developmet and evaluation of data mining methodologies to extract patterns and anomaly detection in electronic medical record access logs. Specific expertise in the areas of social network analysis, temporal or sequential analysis, healthcare systems, and/or Bayesian statistics is benefial, but is not necessary.
The HIPLab is a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with large datasets, real healthcare systems that have been in operation for over a decade, and investigators across the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, as well as the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Candidates are expected to be independent and conduct original research that has
application in the local environment and is generalizable.
Requirements: Candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent degree) in computer science, bioinformatics, medical informatics, information science, or a related field.
