INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 3 (Software Developer - Stork Project) The Center for Computation & Technology @LSU The Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) is an interdisciplinary research center on the LSU campus, where representatives from all areas of academics work with the high-performance computing resources available on campus to advance breakthroughs. Currently, the center is looking for an experienced Information Technology Analyst 3 (Software Developer) who will contribute to the development of the NSF funded Stork Data Scheduler project. Stork, http://www.storkproject.org, is an innovative data scheduling software for large-scale distributed computing applications used by both the scientific and industrial communities. Responsibilities: develops and implements the core Stork Data Scheduler functionalities; tests, validates, and releases software; ports it to different architectures; provides technical support to users. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, the job may also include writing research publications; collaboration with other complimentary on-going research projects; working closely with an interdisciplinary research team and with several application groups together to achieve the goals of Stork Project. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area; five years of C/C++ programming experience; expertise on UNIX-based platforms and software testing, packaging, porting, maintenance, and technical support; understanding of software development process and experience with developing production quality code. Master's degree in related field will substitute for the two years of experience. Additional Qualifications Desired: Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field; a good understanding of distributed computing models and applications; track record of publications, patents and ties with the research community.
