The over-arching theme for this year's program is Sustainable Societies: Building Social, Cultural, and Environmental Capital in a Globalized World.

Postdoctoral fellows are expected to contribute to one or more of USF's priority goals in its strategic plan, which include (1) Expanding world-class interdisciplinary research, creative and scholarly endeavors; (2) promoting globally competitive programs in teaching and research; (3) expanding local and global engagement initiatives to strengthen sustainable and healthy communities; and (4) enhancing revenue through external support.  Details are available in the USF Strategic Plan (http://www.ods.usf.edu/plans/strategic/).

In addition, the post doctoral scholars will participate in an interdisciplinary and programmatic seminar series; teach one course each semester; continue building an outstanding, independent research record; and if appropriate, seek external funding.
