Special issue on Web and Mobile Information Services
http://ghitak.googlepages.com/kerspecialissue
Introduction
The recent advances in the Web and mobile information technologies offer new
and exciting services to users ranging from e-commerce, entertainment to
public services. Users have now the luxury of accessing a wide range of
information from anywhere at anytime.
These new developments however introduce many new challenging problems. For
example, users want mobile devices to react to the changes in locations,
context, contents and variation in network bandwidth while accessing Web
contents. These challenges suggest tackling the problem of service
adaptation at the application level of services.
Further the service-oriented computing facilitates the provisioning of web
and mobile services in an open, loosely coupled and distributed environment.
Thus service consumers can acquire services on the fly and tailor them to
their own preferences, beliefs and needs.
