Health Informatics Faculty Position at the University of Missouri

Faculty Position in Health Informatics University of Missouri The University of Missouri is recruiting a faculty member to join a growing faculty of 24+ full-time members. Candidates should have a Ph.D., MD, or other doctoral degree in Informatics or a related discipline, with demonstrated teaching and research records in health informatics. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in collaborative research and a commitment to providing leadership within a multidisciplinary research and teaching program. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position in the Department of Health Management and Informatics (HMI). The rank for the position is open (assistant, associate, or full) depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. However, we especially encourage candidates holding associate or full professor status to apply for the position. The Department of Health Management and Informatics offers a Ph.D. program in Informatics, and master’s programs in Health Informatics and Bioinformatics (MS) and Health Services Management (MHA). The Ph.D. program is for residential students, while the master’s programs are offered both on-campus and as executive programs using distance-learning formats. The candidate selected will also hold a leadership/research position and appointment in the MU Informatics Institute (MUII), linking the faculties of the Departments of Health Management and Informatics, Computer Science, and Industrial Engineering. The MUII supports collaborative informatics research and administers the Ph.D. program in Health Informatics and Bioinformatics. The research program is supported by the National Library of Medicine’s pre- and post-doctoral training program in Biomedical Informatics Research Training. Qualified candidates from all medical disciplines will be considered. Candidates may also seek clinical appointments in School of Medicine departments, such as Family and Community Medicine, Pathology and Anatomical Sciences, or Radiology.
