Fall 2009 North East DB/IR Day on Friday, October 23 at NYU Poly, Brooklyn, NYC
Dear Colleagues,
We are happy to announce the Fall 2009 North East DB/IR Day, to be held on the campus of NYU Poly in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday 10/23/2009. The goal of the North East DB/IR Day is to bring together researchers and students in Databases, Information Retrieval, and related areas from both academic and research institutions in the Northeastern United States. It is a semi-annual workshop that features invited speakers, a student poster session, and opportunities for informal discussion with colleagues.
The last DB/IR Day was hosted at the University of Pennsylvania in Fall 2008. After a hiatus in Spring 2009, the Fall 2009 DB/IR Day will be held in New York City, on the campus of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU. We are located in downtown Brooklyn and a 17-minute subway ride from Penn Station. Registration is FREE, and students attending the workshop are encouraged to bring posters describing their research for participation in a poster session and competition.
