Cloud Cpomputing
**Call for Papers: Cloud Data Management**
Special Issue of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering
Cloud computing is a big step towards realizing McCarthys
dream that all aspects of computation be organized as a
public utility service. It embraces concepts such as software
as a service and platform as a service, including services for
workflow facilities, application design and development,
deployment and hosting services, data integration, and
management of software. The cloud platform only increases
in importance as our industry makes the phase change from
in-house data management to cloud-hosted data management to
improve efficiency and focus on core businesses. However,
like any new technology, there are formidable problems,
from performance issues to security and privacy, from metadata
management to high availability. These issues make great
research areas importance and challenge. Providing solutions
will help extend the dream of information at your fingertips
to available wherever you happen to be. This special issue of
TKDE on cloud data management calls for original articles that
propose solutions for this exciting new computing paradigm.
TOPICS
Original contributions, not currently under review or accepted
by another journal, are solicited in relevant areas including
(but not limited to) the following:
* Cloud infrastructure for data management;
* Cloud infrastructure for multi-tenancy databases;
* Performance issues and benchmarking;
* Query processing and optimization;
* Indexing;
* Massively parallel execution;
* Security and privacy;
