Postdoc "nonnegative matrix factorization" au CNRS LTCI; Telecom ParisTech Post-Doc DeadLine: 08/10/2009 fevotte@telecom-paristech.fr http://www.tsi.enst.fr/~fevotte/postdoc_tangerine.pdf POST-DOCTORAL POSITION at CNRS LTCI / Telecom ParisTech (ENST) Paris, France A two years post-doctoral position is offered at Laboratoire Traitement et Communication de l'Information (LTCI), the joint laboratory of CNRS and Telecom ParisTech (aka ENST), physically located in Telecom ParisTech's buildings in Paris. The position is within the project TANGERINE (Theory and applications of nonnegative matrix factorization), funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The general aim of TANGERINE is to bring theoretical and methodological research contributions to nonnegative matrix and tensor factorization (NMF/NTF). The project more specifically intends to carry out NMF/NTF research regarding model selection, factorizations with structural constraints and fast algorithms in high dimension, in particular from statistical viewpoints. The developed methodology will be applied to three specific applications, underlying different sources of problems: identification of dietary behaviors from food consumption data, audio source separation and video content structuring. The project members are Cédric Févotte (leader), Stéphan Clémençon and Slim Essid from CNRS LTCI / Telecom ParisTech, and Jessica Tressou from INRA. Candidates should have a PhD in the areas of machine learning, data analysis, signal processing or numerical optimization. The postdoctoral researcher will be employed by CNRS – the net salary is about 2000 EUR per month. The position is for 2 years, starting fall 2009 or later.
