Post Doctoral Research Fellow Position in Medical Device Software Process.
Dundalk Institute of Technology is a dynamic, world class Institute that
has developed an international reputation in both basic and applied
research through its Research Centres.
The Regulated Software Research Group is part of the Software Technology
Research Centre within the School of Informatics, Music and Creative Media.
Project Summary:
Following a recent success in attracting grant income through the
Science Foundation Ireland Principal Investigator Programme (grant
number 08/IN.1/I2030), the Regulated Software Research Group
(http://ww2.dkit.ie/research/rsrg) wishes to expand its team to research
and develop a global software development framework for the medical
device industry. The framework will promote the growth of the Irish
medical device software industry through assisting medical device
organizations to increase the efficiency of their software development
processes and smooth their path to achieving regulatory compliance.
Position:
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will play a central role in the team
and will be responsible for software process model and roadmap
development, deployment, evaluation and refinement. Additionally, the
Post Doctoral Researcher will be expected to publish research papers in
international journals and at leading international conferences.
The post is immediately available and will be filled on a fixed term
contract basis for a period of three and a half years. The salary scale
for the post ranges from €40,000 to €49,195. However, the starting
salary shall not exceed €42,436.
Requirements:
Applicants must hold an Honours degree, or equivalent, in a computing
related discipline and must have recent relevant research experience.
Applicants must also have or be about to submit a PhD in a Computing
related discipline.
