Postdoc openings at IBM Almaden Research Center

The eXtreme Analytics Platform project at the IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose, CA is looking for highly qualified Ph.D. graduates for Postdoc positions. We are exploring new systems for advanced data analytics combining, extending, and creating new technologies in analytics, data management, and cloud computing. Particular focus is on developing analytics that scale to terabytes or petabytes of data by employing massive parallelism. We are interested in the systems aspects of a platform that can support such solutions, including data management, distributed systems, access structures, languages and query processing, and related technologies such as Hadoop. We are also interested in specific data analytic solutions, and the supporting data mining, machine learning, predictive analytics, network algorithms and other analytic techniques for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. This is an excellent opportunity for creative candidates seeking experience working with a team of other researchers in a world-class industrial research organization.
