The University of East London is a vibrant and rapidly expanding
university at the heart of Europe’s largest regeneration area and
adjacent to the site of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. UEL is in
the top 10 new universities in the UK for research in
the 2008 RAE exercise.
The School of Computing, Information Technology and Engineering (CITE)
with over 3000 students on campus, is entering a new era of innovation
and expansion. Following a very successful student recruitment round
we are planning for major expansion of our research and academic
portfolio, both in the UK and internationally.
CITE provides innovative undergraduate, masters and doctoral
programmes in parallel and distributed computing, telecommunications,
wireless sensor networks, information security and digital forensics,
software engineering, business information systems and internet
systems engineering. Computing related research and knowledge transfer
activities in the school are supported by national and international
grants and they focus on secure software systems, computer security
and distributed software engineering and mobile adhoc networks.
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER DIGITAL MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES
Salary in the range of £31,469 to £46,729 p.a. incl.
You will be a well-qualified academic or management practitioner with
a demonstrable understanding of UK higher education to teach at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to our research
or consultancy profile. You will also make key contributions to the
development of new modules and programmes. At Senior Lecturer level
you will be expected to undertake programme management
responsibilities.
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING AND NETWORK PROGRAMMING
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN COMPUTER SECURITY AND SOFTWARE SYSTEMS (2 POSTS)
Salary in the range £31,469 to 46,729 p.a. incl.
We are seeking three new colleagues to join in the computer systems
and networks, secure system and software development fields, to teach
on computing degrees relevant to the computing areas of the School.
You will have deep knowledge of relevant subject area. For Lecturer
level, you will have the ability to contribute to teaching activities
and programme development. For Senior Lecturer level, you will have
extensive teaching and programme development experience. You will
possess a relevant PhD (or be near completion) and will have a good
research record, together with the ability to contribute to the
rapidly developing profile of the school’s research activities.
